STUDY

Choose a Program and School

There are several schools in Canada, however, if you need a study permit, your acceptance letter must be from a DLI. If it isn’t, your application will be refused. Moreover, not all DLI's offer post graduate work permit (PGWP), so make sure that when you choose your school check if they are eligible for PGWP. You can check it here.

Once you choose a school you must apply to go there. Every school has different rules on how to apply  so make sure you apply at least a year in advance for a post-secondary program or six months in advance if you want to study at a primary or secondary school. You also have to make sure that you contact them to check the cost to apply, tuition fees, health insurance, rent and cost of living and their language test requirement.

Apply for a Study Permit

The study permit is a document that allows foreign nationals to study at designated learning institutions (DLI) in Canada. Most foreign nationals need a study permit to study in Canada. If you live in China, India, Morocco, Pakistan, the Philippines, Senegal or Vietnam, you can apply to get your study permit through Student Direct Stream (SDS) to get your study permit faster.

Work or Live in Canada After You Graduate

To work in Canada after you graduate, you need a work permit. The work experience you gain while working may help you qualify for permanent residence. Graduates of certain designated learning institutions are eligible for PGWP, if you’re not eligible for a PGWP, you may still be able to work in Canada after you graduate depending on your circumstance. Check your eligibility here.
